What is Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate?
Copper sulfate is the copper salt of Sulfuric Acid. The pure, anhydrous substance occurs as a white, crystalline powder. Copper sulfate pentahydrate is the most common form of Copper Sulfate and is bright blue. Copper sulphate has many different applications. For example, it is used in horticulture as a fertilizer, in cattle farming in foot baths to combat infections of the hooves of the cattle, and in medicine as a disinfectant, blood clotting agent and as emetic. In addition, it is used for etching.
