Sodium formate is the Sodium salt of Formaci acid. It is a white, flowing powder and is well soluble in water.
Sodium formate is a food additive (E237). Sodium formate is a buffer for solid inorganic acids to increase their pH. In addition, it is used in colour and printing processes for textiles.
