Butyl glycol acetate (PGI) or 2-Butoxyethyl acetate is a colourless liquid with a characteristic odour and is moderately soluble in water. The substance is well soluble in other common organic solvents.

Due to its good solubility in organic solvents, PGI is widely used in the coating industry to improve the gloss and viscosity of coatings.
