Cyclohexanone is used for the production of adipic acid. Cyclohexanone is a colourless, oily liquid with a smell very similar to the scent of Acetone. Cyclohexanone is moderately soluble in water but well soluble in ethanol and ether. It is also used as a solution and diluent.
