What is Dipropylene glycol?
Dipropylene glycol (DPG) is a colourless and relatively odourless liquid that is moderately soluble in water and well soluble in ethanol.
It mainly has its application as a softener (plasticizer), as an intermediate in industrial chemical reactions and as a solvent. The substance is low-toxic and is therefore widely used as an additive in various personal care products such as deodorant, perfume, lotion, shaving gel and shampoo.
