What is Heptane?
Heptane is a colourless liquid with a recognizable odour extracted from petroleum. It is very poorly soluble in water. Heptane is often used as a solvent instead of xylene or hexane. It is also used as a glue remover for stamps. In addition, Heptane can be used to distinguish bromine from iodine.
