Sodium Thiosulfate 50% solution is often requested. What is usually meant is a solution made with 50% sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate (Na₂S₂O₃·5H₂O) and 50% water.
Due to the water molecules in the pentahydrate form, the actual active content of sodium thiosulfate (Na₂S₂O₃) is approximately 32% by weight.
Therefore, the 50% solution made from the pentahydrate is the same as the 32% sodium thiosulfate solution we supply. The function and applications are identical; the difference lies only in how the concentration is labeled.
