Triethylene glycol (TEG) is a colourless, odourless liquid. It is known for its hygroscopic quality and its ability to dehumidify liquids. It is used, among other things, as a plasticizer for vinyl polymers. It is also used in air purifiers and when natural gas is drying out. Triethylene glycol can also be used as an additive for hydraulic and brake fluids. In addition, it is used as a basis for smoke machine liquid.
